Process Improvement of the Quarter
Front End Systems (FES)
Team members: Chris Adams, Eric Crownhart, Linda Harp, Charles Kelley, Patrick Nee, Miriam Oravec, Todd Polly, Ernest Roberts, David Tilley and Douglas Wells
The FES team improved encounter data processing after identifying a long-running system job that was delaying early-morning cycle. The team refined scheduling, streamlined the process for clearing older data and added another cycle to distribute the workload more evenly. These changes reduced processing time, stabilized system performance and helped ensure files were delivered to the Encounter Data Processing System on schedule. The improvement also used computing resources more efficiently and received positive feedback from CMS.
