What is your name and what do you do at Palmetto GBA?
Hello, my name is Brianna Culla. I’m an Auditor I at Palmetto GBA, where I work on the Medicare Cost Report team auditing the Worksheet S-10. The Worksheet S-10 is an important tool for hospitals to report their uncompensated care data to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which is then used to determine the Disproportionate Share of Hospital (DSH) payments. In short, as an auditor, I am responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of the information reported on Worksheet S-10 by hospitals. 

What is your favorite part about working for Palmetto GBA?

There’s an abundance of reasons why I love working for Palmetto GBA but just to name a few of my top favorites: Sense of purpose: My team does a phenomenal job at making each individual feel that their work is meaningful and contributing to something bigger. Colleagues and team members: At Palmetto GBA, I work with a group of individuals who share similar goals and interests, and it can be enjoyable to both collaborate and learn from them. Learning opportunities: Palmetto GBA does an incredible job at providing their employees with training and development programs, which, ultimately, contributes to my personal and professional growth.

When I was job searching, I generally looked for a combination of benefits that would meet my needs and help me to achieve my short-term and long-term goals. What benefits did you like about Palmetto GBA?
Palmetto GBA strives to promote healthy habits which, in turn, offers some incredible benefits. The company has implemented a workplace wellness program called “Get in the Habit”. The Get in the Habit challenge has motivated me to incorporate daily physical activity during my breaks. Once I complete the challenge each month, I earn two additional hours of Paid Time Off (PTO). My participation in this challenge reduces my health insurance rate monthly which is an added benefit. Additionally, I love how Palmetto GBA promotes a positive workplace culture. Values and integrity are essential aspects of the company's culture which contributes to a happier, healthier, and more productive workforce. In my experience, my colleagues and management team have always offered open communication, recognize individuals for their hard work, and valued feedback on areas of improvement.

What are your career goals within the company? How do you think Palmetto GBA will help you obtain these goals?
When I started working for Palmetto GBA, the first career goal I set to establish was to achieve a better work-life balance. I was able to accomplish this goal within a short 6 months with the company. I transitioned from the Medicare Cost Report Desk Review team as an Accounting Technician III to the Medicare Cost Report Worksheet S-10 team as an Auditor I to fulfill a fully remote position. This has helped me gain more flexibility and motivation to be an outstanding employee at work and an excellent mother at home. My future career goals are to continue climbing up the ladder as I enjoy building my skills, demonstrating my value, and taking initiative. Palmetto GBA has already helped me obtain my goal of career advancement and I have no doubt they will continue to support me in accomplishing my career goals in the upcoming years.
