Reinstating Quality Assurance Process for CMS Referred Revocations

Team members: Shannon Collins, William Cox, Gloria Lowe, John McElroy, Elsie Otero, Dalia Riester

In 2023, the National Provider Enrollment West (NPE West) team discovered that they didn’t meet a 100 percent accuracy score due to one error. To reduce the chance of a future error, the team reviewed the instructions for handling specific processes and developed a new process to check accuracy. In 2024, the team implemented the plan in three phases. NPE West hired a new manager to oversee the changes, reintroduced the quality assurance process and continued peer reviews while completing the implementation. By September, NPE West achieved a 100 percent score for accuracy in 2024.
