Team of the Quarter – Team Review Claim Demonstration Provider Call Center (PCC)

The Review Claim Demonstration Provider Call Center (PCC) team saw an increase in its call volume in the first quarter of 2021. This was due to the high number of calls in the Claims Processing Issues Log (CPIL) related to the adjustments made in home health for 2021. Even though call volume almost doubled, the team stepped up to the challenge, and through teamwork and collaboration, managed to maintain the required Average Speed Answer (ASA) for Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 of 2021.

Team Members: Kelley Amburn, Carrie Baker, Justine Benson, Michael Bibbins, Angel Brooks, Andrew Carpenter, Chastiny Cato, Holly Cox, Jakob Cumper, Brittney Dent, Torien Ferguson, Samaria Gleaton, Tishiek Glisson, Kierra Hanson, Jennifer Horan, Thedrian Jones, Kimyatta Kershaw, Calpurnia Lewis, Bonitha McLemore, Tionia Owens, Vanessa Richardson, Maria Smith, and Latisha Watson

Process Improvement of the Quarter – Preventing Open Logging and Tracking on Closed Applications

When conducting biweekly audits that are open on closed Document Control Number (DCN), a report is generated from the Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS) to identify open logging and tracking. This report is then compared to the in/out report against the closed DCN's. Any items identified as open are sent to the analyst to review and close. Once this happens, a secondary review is completed, and all the data is retained for tracking purposes.

Since the implementation of this process, there has been a decrease in the total number of open-closed DCN's. This process results in all logging and tracking being reviewed and closed, therefore resulting in no outstanding issues and a significant reduction in error rates.
