Teresa Newton, Provider Enrollment Director, encourages and motivates her team to exceed their goals. During the Coronavirus Public Health Emergency, the Provider Enrollment (PE) team, under Teresa's leadership, rapidly responded to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) instructions to process and accelerate provider enrollment applications. This involved creating a dedicated hotline to initiate temporary, provisional Medicare billing privileges via phone. Through quick and decisive actions, the hotline was established within two days, exceeding CMS expectations.

Teresa’s leadership is heavily focused on improving processes within her department. Teresa led the PE team to be the first operational area to implement warm transfers and has initiated improvements that directly contributed to the Jurisdiction J A/B MAC eight-point increase in the 2020 Customer Satisfaction Index. Teresa also hired two dozen talented new employees to respond to increased workload and new timeliness requirements.

Teresa's involvement with her team goes beyond operational responsibilities. Teresa is dedicated to high employee morale and engagement. Recently, she helped create and promote a spin-off of the company’s "Get in the Habit" group exercise challenge. By introducing a departmental team-based challenge that promoted a healthy exercise competition, she was able to motivate over 35 co-workers to team up and meet a two-week step goal continuously for six weeks.
