Team of the Quarter

Review Choice Demonstration Recognition Committee

The Division 4M Team of the Quarter is the Home Health Review Choice Demonstration (RCD) Recognition Committee, which was created to build team cohesiveness and make learning fun. The committee of 33 reviewers and five supervisors decided to create a fun and interactive learning activity for nearly 400 reviewers called the RCD Jeopardy Battle of the Reviewers. The committee divided into three subcommittees with defined roles and responsibilities to develop the game. The supervisors served as subcommittee leaders, who kept their teams motivated, on task and aware of time constraints. In the end, this committee functioned as a highly effective team, but also motivated an entire department to form more cohesive teams.

Process Improvement of the Quarter

Preceptor Welcome and Recognition Program

The Home Health Review Choice Demonstration and Quality Assurance and Training Department needed a way to recognize the vital services provided by medical reviewers who voluntarily serve as preceptors to new and returning medical reviewers. After new employees complete their classroom training, the volunteer preceptors provide them with one-on-one training while completing their regular duties. The Quality Assurance and Training team created the Preceptor Welcome and Recognition Program to fill the need. The successful program acknowledges the value of preceptors, improves morale and encourages others to participate. Because of its success, the Preceptor Welcome and Recognition Program is being honored as the Process Improvement of the Quarter by Division 4M.
