Team of the Quarter – Part B Claims Support Staff
The Support Staff Team (SST) is a diverse group that possesses invaluable knowledge and skills. This team continually multitasks to ensure everything gets done in a timely and efficient manner. The SST has met the department's quality objectives by continually assisting the processors with processing questions, maintaining open communication with the quality and operations support teams, and reviewing the process when applicable so that each associate understands exactly what is needed to accomplish the tasks. During 2021 and into the first quarter of 2022, the SST team has completed four process improvements and has an additional four submitted and ready for implementation. This team’s focus on quality, innovation, and dedication to exceeding the company's goals are the reason we are excited to announce the Support Staff Team as our Shared Services Q1 Team of the Quarter.

Process Improvement of the Quarter – Roster Billing via eServices Portal
As a proactive measure to assist mass immunizers and other Medicare Part B providers with the anticipated increase in roster bill submissions related to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE), multiple teams collaborated to develop a user-friendly, intuitive, and efficient way for roster billers to quickly submit their immunization rosters via the Palmetto GBA eServices Portal. Some of these benefits include the elimination of manual data entry activities by contract staff associated with paper roster submissions; quality check availability for billers to verify the roster billing information before submitting the roster for final processing; and confirmation of receipt within 24 hours of submission if the roster was accepted or rejected.
This innovation reduces cycle times for billers associated with submitting paper rosters via USPS and provides roster billers with near real-time status updates, which in turn liberates time on data entry, and document control task hours, and produces substantial annual savings.
Team Members: Jason Autry, Kathy Boehm, Tricia Cordell, Angela Culver, Octavia Gates-Huff, Lori Holsinger, Frances Hui, Crissy Jackson, Bhavana Kakumanu, Chiranjeevi Munaga, Jane Salter, and Yoshiko White
