Shared Services quarterly award winners are committed to beating deadlines
Each quarter, divisions within Palmetto GBA recognize employees for exceptional performance. Please help us congratulate our first quarter honorees.
Claims processing enhancement earns Shared Services Process Improvement of the Quarter
During the first quarter, Lead Claims Processors Vonda Holbrook and Dianne Mancini and Senior Operations Analyst Lovealee Blevins worked together on an enhancement to the check-out order of Part B pre-pay claims.
Their work shaved hours off the time needed to review and assign claims to processing staff members. By saving up to 20 hours per month, their process improvement ensures claims are processed on time, and it earned this team the Shared Services Division Process Improvement of the Quarter.
Shared Services’ Team of the Quarter always lend helping hand
Although the auditing process is frequently interrupted throughout the month by other projects and assignments, the Part B Appeals Quality Assurance team always completes audits on time. During the first quarter, this team completed all normally assigned tasks on time and completed training for two groups of new appeals specialists. As well as completing audits and new hire training, the leads revised or created materials to present during the monthly appeals training sessions.
This group continuously strives to improve both letter quality and our overall quality. They have a vast variety of duties but always find time to complete more tasks or lend a helping hand to others, earning them the honor of the Shared Services Team of the Quarter.

Brandi Helwig recognized as Shared Services Coach of the Quarter for compassion, dedication
Medical Review Supervisor Brandi Helwig often goes beyond her role to assist others and to ensure work processes are followed and that tasks are completed on time. During the first quarter, she took the lead on a new project and worked extra hours to ensure the requirements were completed accurately and in a timely manner.
“In my 27 years of nursing, I have never had a supervisor that is so compassionate and that goes above and beyond to take care of her staff,” said RN Appeal Analyst Mary-Dawn Selby, who nominated Helwig.
Helwig also is recognized for her positive attitude and tireless work ethic, which serve as a great example for her teammates and has earned her the Shared Services Coach of the Quarter award.
