The Shared Services Division Q1 Coach of the Quarter is Kevin Thompson, a data analyst II in the Appeals Department. As the most tenured member of the Part A Appeals reporting team, Kevin took on the responsibility of training a new team member. He provided thorough guidance on all reporting tasks, offered detailed system walkthroughs and ensured the new hire understood each reporting process. Kevin is always available to support his team, maintaining open lines of communication with the team via email and Teams. He participates in team chats and is always willing to hop on a call to work through issues collaboratively. His approachability and willingness to help have made him a trusted leader.

Wendy Littleton

Wendy Littleton, an appeals analyst in the Appeals Department, is the Associate of the Month for January. Valued for her experience and diligence in completing home health master reviews, Wendy helps her team meet its quality metrics. Wendy always performs well, but in January 2025, she scored 100 percent on her monthly quality metrics. She makes every effort to simplify and improve the review process. A real team player, Wendy has previously led successful team-building exercises, is always eager to participate in group activities and willingly shares new insights to enhance team processes.

Tamara Bryant

Named the Associate of the Month for February, Tamara Bryant, an appeals analyst in the Appeals Department, has a superb work ethic. In addition to producing high-quality work, she willingly assists other lines of business experiencing heavy workloads to help them meet timeliness goals and metrics. She is always positive and uplifting, even when work demands are high. Tamara also helped create letter templates to simplify the claims review process for her teammates and contributed to or implemented several process improvements.

Associate of the Month—March

Robert Anduiza

Robert Anduiza, a business analyst I in Home Health and Hospice Claims, was named March Associate of the Month because of his deep expertise and dedication to resolving complex billing issues. He played a vital role in a recent billing project, helping providers and other contractors across multiple systems get accurate payments. Known for his willingness to mentor and educate, Robert not only solves problems he explains his reasoning process, so his teammates can apply it to similar situations in the future. His leadership, professionalism and mentoring approach make him an essential part of the team’s success in processing complex claims.

The Jurisdiction M Part A Appeals team has been named the Team of the Quarter because of their high-quality work, clear and open communication and their commitment to teamwork and continuous learning. An important step in the appeals process is communicating the new decision after a claim is reconsidered; this is called redetermination. This team is thorough and writes clear, concise and informative redetermination letters that educate and empower their customers. The team exceeds all monthly quality measures with scores of 97 percent or higher. They continuously improve by sharing ideas, training each other and by using feedback from regular quality checks. They communicate regularly through emails and in meetings and chats to update one another throughout the day and solve problems when they arise.
