M Team process improvement saves providers time with convenient update
Palmetto GBA associates are always looking for ways to streamline our processes and save people time, especially our customers. A team of employees of M Team recently recognized a way to eliminate some steps for providers submitting forms to Provider Outreach and Education (POE).
Rather than having providers fax completed forms to Palmetto GBA, the new process allows providers to complete the form and submit it digitally via email – all with the click of a button. Not only does this eliminate steps for providers, but it also makes the process of receiving and entering the information simpler.
By eliminating the need to fax information, this group prioritized customer needs and earned the M Team Process Improvement of the Quarter.

Cost Reporting Technician Team processes 25% of nation’s cost reports for CMS
Palmetto GBA associates process a lot of documents. The Jurisdiction J and M Cost Reporting Technician (CRT) Team is no exception. This group processes cost reports for hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospice facilities, rural health clinics, federally qualified health centers, organ procurement organizations, histo-technology laboratories and limited-purpose insurance companies. This team also processes 25 percent of the nation’s cost reports for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
During the first quarter, the CRT Team processed more than 1,800 cost reports with an average processing time of 12 days, exceeding the CMS expected time frame of 60 days.
This team’s dedication and commitment to exceeding CMS expectations earned them their division's Team of the Quarter Award.

M Team Coach of the Quarter constantly seeks opportunity for growth while motivating team
Randy Bailey, Government Audit Manager, has overcome multiple challenges, including large workloads and tight time constraints, as he led Jurisdiction J through the contract transition to Palmetto GBA. He accomplished this while keeping his teams motivated and meeting deadlines and requirements of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Not one to settle for the status quo, Bailey continually seeks out opportunities for growth and seeks out the talent and expertise of Palmetto GBA associates to most effectively complete tasks and projects. He also communicates with multiple other departments to foster collaboration between outside teams.
Bailey’s motivational management style and ability to recognize skill and expertise not just in his own team but in associates across Palmetto GBA is why he’s been named the M Team Coach of the Quarter.
