At Palmetto GBA, the support of our local communities and organizations is a top priority for us. That's why we were honored to have won the Leonard L. Price Fundraising Award on behalf of Senior Resources, Inc. The Leonard L. Price Fundraising Award recognizes an individual or group who has gone above and beyond in their fundraising efforts for the Senior Resources program.

The ripple effects of COVID-19 have negatively impacted our senior community in ways too numerous to count. The examples are heartbreaking. From an individual who could not get their groceries to another who had not had clean clothes or bedding in over two months. We wanted to help our senior citizens avoid these hardships. That's why in the first quarter of 2021, we launched our community impact project "Delivering More Than a Meal with Senior Resources that ran from February 17 to February 28, 2021.

Senior Resources, a local organization in Richland County, SC, strives to help seniors live healthy, independent lives through supplying food, helping at home, and promoting active living. In the calendar year 2020, Senior Resources provided:

• 518,099 total meals to seniors (including the Emergency Senior Nutrition Program in response to COVID-19)
• 139,333 home-delivered meals (Meals on Wheels) to 912 seniors
• delivered an additional 12,480 meals through a partnership with Columbia Housing.

Throughout our campaign, our employees rose to the challenge and once again, in just a short 12-day time period, contributed over $3,700 to Senior Resources and Meals on Wheels, with more than $1,300 received in the last three days of the campaign. Our donations to Senior Resources helped support programs throughout the rest of the year, so our impact was even greater.
