Division 93 recognizes associates for exemplary work in the first quarter of 2023
Coach of the Quarter – Robin Elliott
Robin Elliott, who serves as a Medical Review Manager, has developed into an excellent coach during her tenure. She supports and engages her employees and is flexible with scheduling and workloads to ensure that her staff maintains a healthy work-life balance. Recently, some members of her team required time off to participate in a blood donation program, and Robin was more than happy to accommodate them while working with her colleagues to ensure that all tasks were completed on time. Robin is a kind and understanding leader who prioritizes her team's needs and ensures that they receive the necessary education and training to excel in their roles. In recognition of her outstanding leadership, we are proud to announce Robin as our Coach of the Quarter.
Team of the Quarter – RRB Medical Review Workload Reduction Team
The Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) Medical Review Workload Reduction Team is a dedicated and cooperative group. Due to a recent increase in workload, they required assistance in completing their pending tasks. Another team was selected to help, but thanks to the dedication, clear communication and time management, of the RRB team, the work was completed accurately and on time. Additionally, they presented innovative ideas to improve workflow management and training. We are pleased to recognize their efficiency and willingness to collaborate by awarding them the Team of the Quarter.

Process Improvement of the Quarter – Combining Faxes Received Through the Portal
The Benefit Integrity Unit (BIU) requests medical records from providers for audit purposes through letters, and now also through the provider portal. Providers often send records for a single beneficiary one at a time, creating parent and child document control numbers (DCNs) that must be sorted and documented. However, sorting these DCNs individually is time-consuming and can result in missed documents. By downloading the DCNs directly from iFlow and combining them into one DCN, the sorting process is more efficient, and records are easier for the nurse to review. This change has saved the BIU approximately 7 hours of efficiency time per month, or a total of 84 hours per year. Congratulations to the BIU for improving their process and saving time!
Team Members: Van Dixon, Taryn Herrmann, Tammy Keel, Ricky Newton, Becki Stroud, and Debra Watson
