Process Improvement of the Quarter
Enhancement of Medical Review Process Work
Team members: Mary Cooper, Susan Coyle, Shawniece Godbee, Wanda Holloway, Marian Kennedy, Jamie Moyer
Division 93 has selected the Enhancement of Medical Review Process Work as the Process Improvement of the Quarter. Before this improvement, moving specific document types through the system required the Medical Review staff to stop what they were doing to track the documents and then send a request to the Information Technology (IT) Department to move them manually. This took about three minutes for each document and involved multiple people.
With the improvement, the computer system moves these documents automatically to the correct place. This means the Medical Review staff can process the work in one minute or less without interruptions or help from IT. The improvement saves time, reduces stress and helps everyone work more efficiently.
