Team of the Quarter - General Ledger Accounting Team

The General Ledger Accounting (GLA) team completes the monthly financials statements, adjusting journal entries and reconciliations, business license applications, property tax forms, and escheatment reports. This team is highly efficient, and in 2020, the GLA team met 100% of their key measures while submitting three process improvements.

At the beginning of each year, this team goes into overdrive, assuring that all year-end and beginning of the year work is completed. This involves creating statements for the tax department and working with auditors. Through their hard work and dedication, the audit and audited statements were completed on time without error.

Team members - De’Andrea Johnson-Pringle, Rebecca Jordan, Encarnita Marcella, Stacey Ray, and Wilda Williamson

Process Improvement of the Quarter - Deltek Website Upgrade

The Cost Accounting department is responsible for upgrades to Palmetto GBA’s timekeeping system website, Deltek Time. The most recent upgrade to the Deltek Time site included developing a user-friendly landing page for various timekeeping resources such as: Did You Know, Job Aids, timekeeping forms, recent news, and information on the Service Contract Act (SCA).

The overall positive feedback received from users demonstrates that the upgrade has drastically minimized the amount of time it takes employees to locate information on the site and has decreased the amount of time required to assist employees.

Team members - Felicia Davis, Denise Dearing, David Garrick, Mike Kelly, and Amber Lee
