Division 34’s second quarter Process Improvement of the Quarter is projected to save the company over a quarter of million dollars! Called the Webport Apps DevOps Tools Implementation, the process was implemented by a team in the eCommerce Department. The team wanted to improve 58 applications used by both customers and employees. The goal was to improve how the team creates, tests and delivers these applications, while ensuring they are secure and perform well.
To do this, the team used a set of software development tools to make improvements on different parts of the process, like writing code, testing it, keeping it secure and monitoring its performance. These tools combined the efforts of the development team (who write the code) and the operations team (who manage the software once it’s running) to work more efficiently and effectively.
