Division 28 recognizes associates for exemplary work in the second quarter of 2022

Coach of the Quarter – Mary “Eileen” Hamill

Mary "Eileen" Hamill has been with Palmetto GBA for over 10 years and is currently an Operations Analyst for the Data Strategy team. Eileen demonstrates what it means to be a coach and a team player, as well as a mentor. She is very knowledgeable and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needs it. This gives her the ability to not only step in for a teammate but also teach the necessary skills for the Part B data strategy position. She takes a personal interest in her team's training and is on hand to work with new staff, ensuring that each new team member has a full understanding of their job requirements and processes.

Eileen trained multiple members on the Part B process to include timeliness, additional documentation request (ADR) counts for the daily reports and ongoing training with the contact reports on the Data Strategy team. She is currently training two new associates on the Prior Authorization (PA) Support and Repetitive, Scheduled Non-Emergent Ambulance Transport (RSNAT) teams on how to complete the prior authorization daily and weekly reports. Eileen is a hard worker who is dedicated to making her work the highest quality possible. For this reason, we are excited to announce her as our Coach of the Quarter for Division 28.

Process Improvement of the Quarter – Article Report Denial Reason Code

The post-pay/pre-pay quarterly article report previously provided technical denial reason codes indicating the service was denied because the primary service was not allowed or paid. The reporting logic was rewritten to provide the primary denial/reason code. The post-implementation of the new article report for denial reason codes will allow providers the ability to view accurate results and will prevent the Data Strategy Team from having to manually look up each claim on the report that received the denial. This not only has benefits for the Data Strategy team but also could decrease the number of calls received by the Provider Contact Center and Provider Outreach and Education teams. This new report saves manual work time and increases the accuracy of the report. Congratulations to the Data Strategy Team on being awarded our Process Improvement of the Quarter for Division 28.

Team Members: Richard Altobello, Mary Evans, Albert Harrison, Janet Jackson, Sher Khan, Dehise Phillips, Molly Reynolds, Renee Robinson, Daliyl Skinner, Leslie Wells, and Jennifer Williams

Associate of the Month (April) – Phyllis Folan

Phyllis Folan is a customer service coordinator who, with one year of experience, is relatively new to the company. However, due to her extensive educational background and prior work experience, she has quickly become a valued team player for the Provider Contact Center (PCC), moving from being a Customer Service Associate II to her new position as a Customer Service Coordinator. Phyllis serves as an information source for both internal and external customers by answering complex customer inquiries via telephone, email, and or web inquiry. She also assists management with the planning and coordination of tasks, projects, and goals. For her motivation and quality work, we would like to say congratulations, Phyllis, on being named our associate of the month for Division 28.

Associate of the Month (May) – LaDiamond Shaw

LaDiamond Shaw is an Auditor I who has been with Palmetto GBA since February of 2021. She is very eager to learn and highly motivated.
