Coach of the Quarter – Brandon Scott

Brandon Scott, Customer Service Manager, is passionate about his work and strives to introduce fresh ideas to the team. He instills positivity in others and keeps the team focused on their goal to provide exceptional customer service. Brandon celebrates the team’s victories and turns challenges into learning experiences. He is approachable, flexible, firm, and fair, all qualities that make him a great leader. For this, we are excited to announce Brandon Scott as our Division 1M5M6M Coach of the Quarter. . 

Team of the Quarter – The Audit and Reimbursement Reopening Team

Each year, Medicare Part A providers must submit an acceptable Medicare Cost Report (MCR) package to their Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) to determine their Medicare reimbursable costs. A reopening of the file can be requested and will depend upon whether new and material evidence has been submitted; an obvious error was made; or the original determination is found to be inconsistent with the law, regulations, and rulings. The Audit and Reimbursement Reopening Team complete Medicare Cost Report Reopenings that are received from providers, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS), and stakeholders. Each reopening that is received requires the following: completion of the reopening; review of the reopening; and a third-level supervisory review. The cost report is revised and updated based on the findings. During the first quarter of 2022, the team completed over 300 cost report reopenings and, over the past year, completed over 890 reopenings, accounting for a 60% increase in total reopening completions. We are excited to announce the Audit and Reimbursement Reopening Team as our Q1 Division 1M5M6M Team of the Quarter for their teamwork and constantly striving to improve quality and effectiveness!

Associate of the Month (January) – Yazmyn Joyner

Yazmyn Joyner is a customer service coordinator who has advanced in the department due to her dedication and quality work. She maintains consistent control of multiple tasks she is assigned by the management team. For our associates working from home, Yazmyn consistently supports them via emails, conference calls, and meetings. and is available to help those working in the office. Her knowledge and confidence make her an amazing employee, and that's why we are excited to announce Yazmyn as our Division 1M5M6M Associate of the Month.

Associate of the Month (February) – Connie Young

Connie Young, a Customer Service Advocate II, is responsible for sorting all incoming documents for contracts and sending them to the appropriate areas for review. She acts as a trainer for new pre-screeners joining the team. According to her team, "Connie is one of the most dedicated associates in the department. She possesses all the qualities anyone would want and would appreciate in an employee or teammate." She is highly efficient in her work, addressing any issues that may arise in a timely and accurate manner. She adheres to the quality metrics of the company, department, and her team. For this dedication to her work, we are excited to announce Connie as our Division 1M/5M/6M Associate of the Month.

Associate of the Month (March) – Kathy Boehm

Kathy Boehm, a Senior Provider Relations Representative, is an outstanding employee, teammate, and asset to the department. She works diligently to ensure quality standards are met. Kathy can often be found assisting other co-workers when needed. According to her team, “Kathy's willingness to help others and her commitment to educating providers are unequaled.” Kathy maintains a very positive and friendly attitude towards Palmetto GBA’s customers and is very well versed in  Medicare Part B  allowing her to answer their questions with confidence.
