Community Impact

Helping Our Communities, One Animal At A Time

At Palmetto GBA, our employees consistently volunteer their time, resources, and knowledge to help their local communities. Cheryl Sandri, a medical coding specialist, volunteers with Columbia, South Carolina's Final Victory Rescue, whose goal is to give animals the most positive experience after a traumatic time in a shelter, neglected home, or being homeless. On her days off, you can find Cheryl at a local veterinarian's office where she picks up stray animals receiving vaccinations, being treated for health issues, or who have been spayed or neutered, and delivers them to Victory Rescue Sanctuary, where they can help them find new and loving homes.

Cheryl doesn't stop there. She also volunteers with other organizations, including the Fairfield County Animal Services and the Columbia Humane Society. Cheryl recently learned that her neighborhood had a stray cat problem. She took it upon herself to help alleviate the problem by humanely catching over 30 stray cats. She then took them to Pawmetto Lifeline to be spayed or neutered. Once the cats were treated, they were either adopted or released back into their community.

This is a great example of how our employees volunteer their time and expertise to help our local communities. Regardless of how big or small, helping those in need, including our furry friends, is always positive.
